Get ready for a monster blog post....

I know, I haven't updated this thing in a long time! I need to get better at that.

But anyways, we are doing well here in the Hill family, over in our new home in Jackson, MS (well, Brandon, MS more specifically). We've been here for about 3 weeks now and we are really enjoying the area. It reminds me a lot of Birmingham (where I was raised) and has a LOT of shopping areas, restaurants, and tons and TONS of parks to take Lil Bit. We are trying to find a church still... We haven't been here for the last few Sundays so we are a little behind on that. A couple weekends ago my grandmother died so we went to Birmingham to go to her funeral, and then last week we went on a cruise to the Bahamas with Thomas' family. The cruise was amazing! We went with basically all of Thomas' family, there were about 26 of us. Fun times were had by all. Here are a few snapshots....
The happy couple

Not sure what we were doing here... LOL

Char and her dredz!

Our boat

Charlotte with her Aunt Lynne (sorry, I dont know how to do the little line over the e! lol) and her Grandma (Thomas' mama)

I don't have any pictures from our apartment yet because... Well... It's still messy as all get out. Let's just say we have a HUGE kitchen with too many cabinets (is there such a thing?) and Char has lots of room to run around and play now. Thomas has started his job and he really likes it. It will take a lot of time for him to get used to his new environment, and being "the newbie" is never fun for anyone, really! :) He thinks he'll really be challenged. He found out they only hired 2 people into his program, out of the 20-something people they interviewed last Fall. I'm not sure if that's just how many accepted the position or if they were just really picky. Thomas says that the other employees are really high caliber, though, so it was probably the ladder. I am so proud of my sweet husband!

I start my job orientation on Monday and it lasts for 2 weeks. Not sure what we'll be doing for 2 weeks, but I'll find out soon! This hospital uses teal scrubs for nurses which is just great because I dont have any teal scrubs! They also don't allow any printed tops, just plain teal or white. BOOORRRING. Oh well. Working 2 days a week but getting paid full-time is the trade off!

In baby news, well, there isn't much. I had my doctor's appointment at our new local office yesterday, and it was... Well, it was just ok. First of all, we (Char and I) were late because earlier that morning I had "paperwork" and drug testing to do at the hospital in order to start on Monday... They told me it would last an hour... No, it lasted 3 hours and I was late to my doctor's appointment. I met with the Nurse Educator. Apparently, you have to meet with the Nurse Educator before you can see a doctor. So, since I was late, she had an attitude towards me at first. Fine, whatever, I understand. Then she starts asking me all these health history question, how my pregnancy was last time, do I plan on getting an epidural, etc..... And then she asked me if it is a boy if I plan on circumcising. I told her that I wasn't sure yet because I have come across a lot of research that says it is better to nor circumcise. Wrong thing to say! Ha. She gave me this dirty look and told me that I was crazy if I didn't circumcise my son (if, indeed, it is a son) and that he'll get infections and all this other nonsense that isn't true. I still have a lot to read up about it, but I'm going to wait until I know the gender and I'll cross that bridge when I come to it! :) But I don't think her response was the best. As a nurse, I know you are supposed to be the patient advocate and be pretty neutral on such topics. But what do I know?

But I did schedule my doctor's appointment AND the "big ultrasound"! Woohoo! It'll be on June 29! A little over 2 weeks from now! I am so psyched about it, I cannot WAIT to see what this beanie is!!! I'm thinking it's a boy, even though I want another little girl.... We'll see! At first I thought this pregnancy was different than before, but it really is turning out to be very similar. Hmmmm....

I'm still feeling pretty sick all the time, though. *sigh* I am 15w 4d today. I had a feeling this would happen. It has gotten better, but I'm still sick to my stomach pretty much 24/7 again and I throw up about 5 times a week, usually at night. It was the craziest thing, though... While on the cruise I felt great! No nausea, no puking, nothing... Ok, I had a couple bouts of nausea, but I just popped a Zofran and everything was fine. But as we were making the 12 hour long trek back to MS from FL (where our cruise port was), I started getting nauseous again and it hasn't stopped since. My guess is that it had something to do with the sea level? I dont know, but I'm thinking I want to just live at the beach now! Ha.

So that's the big updates for now. I'll be updating this thing more, for sure!

Glad to read this update, looks like you had a wonderful time on the cruise, my parents went on a Carnival cruise recently and loved it.
Pretty impressive for your hubby to be 2 of 20 and it sounds like your new hours will let you have that extra time with the kids- which must be such a relief.

Sorry about your Grandmother, i just lost my Grandfather a week ago today, you have my empathy and understanding.

As far as circumcision goes, my hubby isn't and he had no problems growing up. We found out that our youngest was to be a girl before we settled on which way we might go, but i was leaning toward not circumcising, but if you will be having a boy, you do what God leads you to do.

Sorry the morning sickness hasn't let up yet, but it must have been nice to enjoy the cruise with little evidence of it, i wonder if it was the fresh air and salt water.

Take care and keep us updated, Charlotte is as always, ADORABLE

If you ever want to talk about not circumcising, let me know. My son is not and we have never had an issue.
