Our story of God's great provision. :)

Before I write anything else, I want to say that this is in NO WAY a bragging post, nor do I think that we are better than anyone else... Quite the opposite, we are great sinners who serve a great God and He loves us by no merit of our own, only His grace and mercy! I only write to point to the glory of God and His provision in our lives.

Matt. 6:25-33, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?  And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?  And why are you anxious about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?'  (--or what shall we drive?? my add) :) For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all.  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

I don't want to go into too much detail, but I did want to write a post that glorifies God and tells of His greatness so that others will want to praise Him, too!

Ever since I found out I was pregnant a few months ago, we knew that we would need a bigger car because neither of our vehicles would be able to fit three car seats. Then the air in my car went out (it would need a $1000 repair, definitely didn't have that kind of money!), and we just, honestly, got a little hopeless there for awhile... But we knew He would not forsake us on this, either.

I knew the conception of this baby was all His doing so I knew that He had to provide for us, that was never a question in my mind, just the "how" part was what I wondered about. I have been out of a job since February (also God's providence, but that is another post!) and we have been extremely tight on money. I really did not know where this money for a new vehicle would come from, I assumed we'd just take out a loan when that time came and save up what we could for now, which would not be able to be a lot. But of course, we didn't want to take out a loan, as we are already in debt and want to get out of that as soon as possible! I (and some friends) had been praying for God to provide this vehicle for us for months and I just knew that God would provide for us, He always has! I would worry about it every once in awhile, but whenever I did, I would remind myself that God provides. God provides.

Today, totally on a "whim" (but obviously in the great providence of God), Thomas went to test drive a minivan at a local dealership after hearing a commercial on the radio. After work he took me to test drive it, too. We both liked it, it was a good deal, but we told them we would think and pray about it tonight and get back with them tomorrow. So we go home and I start getting the girls ready for bed, and Thomas goes to go check the mail (Thomas always checks it right when he gets home, why he didn't do that today I don't know!). He comes in the door and he's shaking a little bit and looks surprised, so I ask him what is wrong. He hands me an envelope that has an anonymous gift check from a local bank in it. At the bottom, it has a note, "I hope this helps your family w/the minivan." The amount of the check is the EXACT amount of the minivan, including taxes and fees and all that.We were both in shock! How could this be? How did anyone know we were praying for a minivan? I think I wrote a status on Facebook about it a few months ago, but other than that, I don't think we had mentioned anything!

We both started praising and thanking God, our provider and our loving Father! Being the emotional pregnant lady that I am, haha, I started crying and just thanking the Lord for providing for us. Charlotte asked me what was wrong, and I told her over and over how God is just so good and He loves us so much! We don't deserve anything, but He is kind and so gracious to those who love Him.

We don't know who was so generous and kind to provide this for us, but we are overwhelmingly grateful! So thank you so much, if you are reading this. :) We thank God for His body of Christ, those willing to help meet others needs. Beautiful!

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Philippians 4:19-20)

I know that many of you reading this may find this completely strange and just plain weird... Or that I am leaving out some important detail, but I'm not. I'm simply here to glorify God and point you in His direction and tell of Him and His Son, Jesus Christ, who has paid our own debt to God by dying on the cross, satisfying the wrath of a holy God, making us right with God, all by HIS grace and mercy! My God has saved me, I definitely do not deserve that, much less anything else He provides for our family! Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!

Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us."

We do serve an awesome God. He does things for us when we really don't understand or feel that we deserve it- this is an amazing story and it gave me chills!! While your family will be blessed with a new car- someone else is being blessed by giving you that precious gift!!

That is awesome about the mini van and God is good and he cares about us and our needs. When Kevin was a graduate student years ago, i had a miscarriage and we didn't have the money for the medical care we needed. God knew we needed $500 to take care of our medical expenses. While having a group of friends over at our home, the next morning Kevin opened his Bible and 5 one hundred dollar bills fell out! We don't know who it was, but we know that the Lord provided for us in our time of need! God does care and we give him the glory! congratulations on another arrow for God's glory. Hugs to you all, Bonnie
